Prior authorization is required for certain drugs prescribed by physicians. Prior approval goes to various groups like reviewer, senior reviewer for final decision on the request. This is helpful for pharmacist and physicians to understand the process required to obtain prior authorization. Guidelines are applied to certain drugs to make the decision on the requests. Final decision is sent via letters or fax to the recipients. Reports are generated for the managers to view the performance of team members, groups and PAs.
